所谓附加费，就是基本运费以外的，由于在特殊情况下或者临时发生某些事件的情况下而加收的费用。现在船公司常收的附加费有:

ORC(original receiving charge)“原产地接货费”。这是最早并专在广东地区征收的附加费用，与目前中国各港口所收的THC内容一样。而所谓THC（terminal handling charge）就是“码头操作费”，也叫“码头处理费”。

BAF(bunker adjustment factor)或BS (bunker surcharge)，也被称为FAF(fuel adjustment factor) “燃油附加费”。

这是由于燃油价格上涨，使船舶的燃油费用支出超过原核定的运输成本中的燃油费用，船公司在不调整原定运价的前提下，为补偿燃油费用的增加而加收的附加费。

在已经征收燃油附加费的情况下，如果燃油价格又突然上涨，船公司可能不调整原燃油附加费而在正常收取燃油附加费以外还增收应急燃油附加费EBS (emergency adjustment surcharge)。随着今年以来燃油价格的不断上涨，燃油附加费也在不断增加。

CAF（currency adjustment factor）货币贬值附加费。这是由于国际金融市场的汇率发生变动，计收运费的货币贬值，为了弥补船公司在货币兑换过程中的汇兑损失而加收的附加费。一般以基本运费的百分比计收。随着汇率的变动，这项附加费的标准也在不断变化。

PSS(peak season surcharge)“旺季附加费”。这是在每年运输旺季时，船公司根据运输供求关系状况而加收的附加费，也称高峰附加费。这是目前在集装箱班轮运输中出现得较多的附加费用。

AMS “自动舱单系统”的英文缩写。现被称为自动舱单系统的录入费。9.11事件以后，因反恐需要，美国海关要求2003年2月1日开始启程运往美国港口的集装箱货物，其承运人必须在国外港口装货前至少24小时以电子方式通过美国设置的“自动舱单系统”，向美国海关提交准确完整的货物申报单。现在所收的AMS，即自动舱单系统录入费。

ISPS 《国际船舶及港口设施保安规则》的英文缩写。某些港口为转嫁引进和执行此规则所增加的成本，而向货主收取的安全附加费。

DOC“文件费”。船公司对每一票货物都要收取的制作文件和文件流动的费用。

此外还有:

港口附加费（port additional）、港口拥挤附加费（port congestion surcharge）、转船附加费（transshipment additional）、直航附加费（direct additional）、选港附加费（optional surcharge）、绕航附加费（deviation surcharge）、变更卸货港附加费（alteration of discharging port additional）、超额责任附加费（additional for excess of libility）、整体费率上调（general rate increase GRI）、目的地交货费DDC (destination delivery charge)破冰费、（ICE surcharge）等等，这些附加费会在不同的时间、不同的场合、不同的航线上发生。
